IMHO it's awesome for those times you just want to use that long mod list (that mappack, that music, these textures, ooh that hud looks awesome. However, the color scheme changed between v1.5 and v1.7 (the versions of SETUP.EXE distributed with Doom 1.7a and Doom 1.8). I've been trying ZDL but it cames with no manual or readme and it seems it can't store different configurations (and it does not seems too easy to change). The setup program runs in DOS 80x25 text mode, with a blue color scheme. I gess I'm looking for some kind of frontend which makes this easy. GZDoom remains a popular port due to both its unprecedented modding capability and graphical optimizations for modern hardware. ZDoom is a family of enhanced ports of the Doom engine for running on modern.
#GZDOOM SETUP INSTALL#
First released in 2005, it has versions for Windows, Linux, and MacOS. To install GZDoom, run the following command from the command line or from. Right now, I've managed to get just a shortcut to launch the last version of Brutal Doom ( -File brutalv20b.pk3 ), but I'm trying to find some kind of application which allows me to tell the game when I launch it "I want this, this and this wads also loaded, but not those." Maybe even save different configurations, so I can switch between Brutal Doom and Pirate Doom at will. GZDoom is a fork of the ZDoom source port created by Christoph Oelckers (Graf Zahl), who still oversees its development. For instructions on setting up netgames, see this thread at the ZDoom forums. My idea is having something (either a program or a bunch of shortcuts) so I can launch GZDoom with my preferred wads and/or mods. IDE and Doomseeker both allow easy configuration and launching of custom. I'm trying to make myself a clean and easy way to configure installation for Doom/Final Doom/Doom 2.
